Japanese Canadians

1. The narrator of the story, was telling of their experiences as a Japanese in ww2. What they were doing to the Japanese was cruel and unfair. they took them from their homes, and only aloud them to have 150 pounds of items. the rest was to be unsure as to if you'd see it ever again.
4.During ww2, canadians treated Japanese poorly. They seized all their possessions and stuck them in internment camps in the interior. these places were cold and dirty, and the shelters were not a good environment to live in.
5. canadians did not get interned if they were decendants from other places like Germany. this happened i believe because during the war, the main racial focus was apon the Japanese. Therefor the Japanese decendants were the ones to be interned.
6. I believe that today, we do still face the problems that the Japanese had to face. Although they tried compensating them with a sum of money, Society today still believes that that should not be good enough for what the government had put them through. We now realize that they are just people and should be treated fairly. And our government today is still appologizing for the actions that happened towards the Japanese in ww2.

Socials Story.

The streets were filled with unemployed hungrey people searching for something more in life to survive. Unfortunetly I had become one of those people. My lfe before the depression was to good to be ture, amazing family, and an enjoyable job. When I least expected it, my life came spiraling downwards along with the stock market. Bussinesses everywhere were losing money and people were being let go because the employers could not pay their employees. I worked in a factory and when they told me I was fired, my heart sank as tears began to whell up in my eyes. I feared for how I would manage to support my family as my husband had died in WWI. Shortly we lost our home and lived on the streets trying to live. I hardly ate, most food I found I have to my children, and even then it was not enough to feed their hunger, nor mine. I knew something needed to be done or none of us would make it through these desperate times. All I could do was strive on what I did have and remain hopefull that the world would not always be this way.
